Your HOA at Work

The County (OC Public Works) provided the information below to alert residents of this large road project that will impact access to Covenant Hills entrance closest to the Covenant Hills Clubhouse (avoid this entrance Monday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). 

Project Name: 
Ladera Ranch: O'Neill Drive & Sienna Parkway Resurfacing

Project Summary: 
Crews will be grinding and constructing a new roadway surface (asphalt grind and overlay) on O’Neill Drive and Sienna Parkway in Ladera Ranch for a smoother drive and to extend the service life of roads. Road/lane closures will be required during working hours, with limited access to residential streets during those times. Traffic control measures will be used for everyone’s safety, however area motorists should expect delays when traveling through the project area.  

There will be alternate route detours for drivers and bicyclists. Bicyclist detours include outside of work hours due to rough condition of streets until work is completed in those areas. Depending on street width/lanes, crews will try to limit work to one half of the street in order to keep a lane open for drivers. Streets with only one lane in each direction will require full closure in that direction during work hours due to limited work space. Please follow all detour and “No Parking” signs posted.

What: 
Improvements will include grinding existing street surface, constructing new street surface (asphalt overlay), installing new traffic striping and markings, retrofitting access ramps, replacing flashing crosswalks and replacing traffic detector loops. 

When: 

• Anticipated Construction Duration June 15 — August 2020
• Work Days & Hours:  Monday—Friday: 7:00 a.m. — 4:30 p.m.

Construction schedule is tentative and subject to change due to weather and other factors

The project will begin Monday, June 22 at 7:00 a.m.

Week of 6/22-6/26: Work starts on Ethereal Street and heads north on Sienna Parkway

• Grinding: Monday (6/22) and Tuesday (6/23)
• Paving: Wednesday (6/24): Closed most of the day until the paving is finished in that section
• Flaggers will be out on the street on Wednesday (6/24)
• Working hours (approximate): 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Note: This will block the Covenant Hills entrance on Mon (6/22), Tue (6/23) and Wed (6/24).

Week of 6/29–7/3: Work starts on O'Neill Drive and heads south toward Ethereal Street

• The OCLM office will be blocked most of Tuesday and Wednesday
• Covenant Hills entrance will be blocked
• Grinding: Monday (6/29) and Tuesday (6/30)   
• Paving: Wednesday (7/1): Closed most of the day until the paving is finished in that section
• Working hours (approximate): 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  
• Note: This will block part of the Covenant Hills entrance on Mon (6/22), Tue (6/23) and Wed (6/24).
