Ladera Gives the Gift of Life at Annual Blood Drive

By Amrita Kaur

In August, Ladera Ranch’s Teen Leadership Council partnered with the American Red Cross to hold its second annual Ladera Ranch Blood Drive at the National Night Out event. This year, the Ladera Ranch community came together to donate 41 pints of blood which equates to saving 123 patient lives. We thank everyone who generously donated their time to impact the lives of the many patients throughout our area and across the country who rely on such gifts. The consistent support and compassion of Ladera Ranch residents when called upon to help those in need, especially in the peak August heat, is truly remarkable. We salute the many donors who made time despite their busy schedules to support the drive and community. Even with this Ladera tradition still in its humble beginnings, together, we have been able to collect 88 pints of blood since 2018. This gift of life has impacted approximately 264 patients and their families and is starting a ripple effect throughout the community. We members of the Teen Leadership Council are so thankful to the donors in our community, the amazing nursing staff, and the Orange County American Red Cross Chapter for making this event a success.
