LARMAC began working with Osborne Organics in 2021 to improve soil health and transition toward organic landscape practices. What started as a plan for select parks has grown into a comprehensive organic fertility and soil health program serving sports fields, school fields, Cambridge Disc Golf Course, Wagsdale Dog Park, Avendale Club, and the Cambridge Citrus Grove.
The program includes:
- Organic granular fertilizers to improve soil structure, increase organic matter, and support beneficial microbial activity.
- Organic liquid fertilizers delivered through underground fertigation systems connected to the irrigation network.
- Smart irrigation controllers that apply the proper amount of water, helping minimize disease and weed growth.
- EZ Flow fertigation tanks that deliver nutrients directly to the root zone, improve nutrient uptake, and reduce fertilizer runoff.
- Ongoing soil-building practices that support plant vigor and natural resistance to pests, diseases, and environmental stress.
LARMAC invests approximately $70,000 per year in this organic fertility and soil health program.
