The Oak Knoll Village Clubhouse was home to the Spring New Homeowner Welcome Reception hosted by the Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS). New homeowners received the red carpet treatment and were welcomed with genuine smiles, handshakes and conversation from members of the community.
Ladera Ranch, CA – The Oak Knoll Village Clubhouse in Ladera Ranch was home to the Spring New Homeowner Welcome Reception hosted by the Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS). The event was held on Tuesday, March 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the community’s original clubhouse that has welcomed residents for 18 years.
Families had the opportunity to meet others who recently moved to Ladera from other places including Aliso Viejo, Arizona, Canada, Canada, Chino Hills, Corona, Costa Mesa, Glendale, Glendora, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Kansas City, Laguna Beach, Long Beach, Mission Viejo, New Jersey, Newport Beach, New York City, North Carolina, Rancho Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Francisco, San Ramon, Taiwan and Tustin.
Over 60 new residents attended the intimate gathering that featured delicious food provided by ZPizza Ladera Ranch, wine by Parker Wine, large-size outdoor games (Jenga, Corn Hole and Connect 4), music and lots of fun social interaction. Residents were able to see a live demonstration by Community Partner Cox Communications, of their latest technology: Contour 2 with its voice-activated remote, Cox Homelife which has security and home automation features, and Panoramic WiFi. Attendees met representatives from LARMAC (Ladera's homeowner association), LARCS (community services), Ladera Ranch Civic Council, the Ladera Rancho Chamber of Commerce and Neighborhood Representatives like Amy Griffin who exemplifies what it means to be neighborly.
According to David Robertson, Communications Manager for Ladera Ranch who oversees the new homeowner welcome receptions, "We are in the process of revamping our new resident engagement program, which includes the Welcome Receptions, to better connect, educate and transition new families to their new community. Our goal is to deliver an welcome experience that leaves residents excited and reassured that they made the best decision for their families in moving to Ladera Ranch."
Equally important is encouraging residents to become an active participant in their community, through volunteering, attending events and programs, serving on a committee or attending board meetings. Some new residents showed interest in serving as a Neighborhood Representative and volunteering at events.
The event was a huge success. Many of the families said they enjoyed getting to know others who are new to Ladera, meeting the management executives and staff who put on the events and lifestyle activities and work for the master association. Residents had the opportunity to ask questions of the homeowner's association representatives who are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to knowing the benefits and responsibilities associated with being a LARMAC member.
As the evening ended, each family was presented with a keepsake as they left for the evening – a framed photograph of the family that was taken on the way into the event. Photos were taken by Lea Prokopowicz Photography who volunteered to take photos for the evening.
The next New Homeowner Welcome Receptions will be held on Tuesday, June 19 and Tuesday, September 25. Residents may RSVP on LaderaLife.com (events).
