The Ladera Ranch Ladies Pickleball Club held its second annual Galentine’s event on February 29.
The tournament was a round-robin format, and players changed partners throughout. Although standard games are played to 11 points, during the tournament, teams played to 7 due to the limited playtime, which was 1 hour and 45 minutes per group. The scores were recorded, and the ladies with the most points in each skill level (2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0+) were awarded "Queen of the Court".
Denise Frank said, "The group was divided by skill level. 2.5 and 3.0 played from 8:00-10:00 a.m., and the 4.0+ above group played from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. The day concluded with the 3.5-level group. 55 Ladera ladies attended the event, which was an amazing turnout!"
Club members donated prizes and treats. Queens of the Court were Lisa and Danielle (Group 2.5), followed by Mako (Group 4) and shared by Lyn and Denise (Group 3).
The club organizers were very happy the rain held off. It was a really fun day for the entire group.
The club's next event, Dinko de Mayo, will be held on Thursday, May 2, and will be in the same format. Prizes will be awarded. For more information, contact Denise Frank by email or connect with the club on Facebook.
