Teens in Ladera

Spring is a season of renewal and new beginnings, and with flowers in bloom and warmer days ahead, there is no better time to enjoy all that our community has to offer. Ladera Ranch is known for its vibrant amenities and lively events, making spring an especially exciting time of year. While there are countless ways to enjoy the season, one of the most meaningful experiences for me has been volunteering—an opportunity that allows me to spend time outdoors while giving back to the community that has given so much to me.

As a long-time volunteer, I can confidently say that volunteering creates a deeper connection to our community and the people who make it thrive. There is a unique sense of fulfillment that comes from seeing your efforts directly benefit local families and children. With Ladera's full calendar of spring events, there are many opportunities for residents to get involved and make a difference.

Throughout the year, dedicated teens in our community generously contribute their time to help bring our annual events to life. For teens interested in volunteering, opportunities are available through Ranch Hands or the Teen Leadership Council (TLC) of Ladera Ranch. Both programs play an essential role in staffing events and supporting community initiatives. TLC, in particular, focuses on developing leadership skills by empowering teens to plan programs and collaborate on projects that serve the community. Applications for TLC are open from May through August for those interested in participating.

Volunteering has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me over the years. It has allowed me to give back to the community I grew up in and reflect on the joy these same events brought me as a child. Seeing smiling faces at today's festivals reminds me of the volunteers whose efforts shaped my own childhood memories. Now, I volunteer to help ensure that every child has the chance to experience that same sense of joy and belonging.

While individual acts of service may seem small, together they create lasting traditions and meaningful impact. Through our collective efforts, we preserve moments of happiness that will continue to shape the memories of future generations. Volunteering is a simple act of service, but within it lies a promise—to strengthen our community, inspire connection, and build a brighter future for all.
