- Dog Waste Station Update
As part of our ongoing effort to maintain a clean and efficient community environment, LARMAC recently conducted a detailed assessment of the 83 dog waste stations throughout Ladera Ranch.
After reviewing location information and usage trends, we determined that certain stations are underused or primarily serve small portions of the neighborhood. To better accommodate more residents and reduce continued maintenance costs, LARMAC is introducing a two-phase plan focused on the strategic removal and relocation of dog waste stations:
-
20 stations situated in low-use areas (not near clubhouses, parks, or trails) will be removed to help reduce expenses.
-
8 stations will be moved to higher-traffic locations where they can offer greater benefit to more residents.
LARMAC remains committed to keeping Ladera Ranch attractive and well-maintained, while ensuring there are plenty of places for proper trash and dog waste disposal. Along with the dog waste stations, there are 583 trash cans placed throughout the community. These changes ensure the remaining 63 dog waste stations are positioned where they are most effective and support responsible cost management. This update will save an estimated $12,240 per year on dog waste bags alone, enabling more efficient use of resources.
Please Note: Although LARMAC provides dog waste bags as a courtesy, residents are encouraged to keep and carry their own supply. These stations are not intended to serve as the only source of bags for pet owners. Dog waste bags can be conveniently purchased here or from any retailer you prefer.
Timeline: The removal and relocation work is currently in progress and is expected to take about 3–4 weeks. Once complete, an updated map showing the revised station locations will be posted on the website.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
