Ladera Landscape Awards

The Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation (LARMAC) Landscape Committee is pleased to announce the return of the Ladera Landscape Awards. This program is designed to show appreciation and to recognize those residents who demonstrate superior effort in maintaining their property, and who, as a result, positively contribute to the overall appearance of the community.

Residents may nominate themselves and as many neighbors as they like through September 19, 2022. One winner, chosen from each category, will receive one selection from the coveted prizes listed below, special recognition on LaderaLife as well as in a future edition of Roots and Wings, and the honor of displaying the official Ladera Landscape Award lawn sign.  Winners will be notified during the first week of October 2022.

Any modifications to your existing landscape require approval from the Aesthetics Review Committee (ARC).

CATEGORIES

Best Use of Space

  • General appearance: Well-maintained and manicured front yard.
  • Takes advantage of front yard area and site features, such as shade, micro-climates, or low-lying flood areas. 
  • Plant material with a variety of heights, textures, and colors.
  • Landscape features such as fountains, benches, and pottery/pots.

Most Creative

  • General appearance: Well-maintained and manicured front yard.
  • Plant material with a variety of heights, textures, and colors.
  • Landscape features such as fountains, large rocks in bed, and, etc.
  • Color contrast.

Overall Appearance

  • General appearance: Well-maintained and manicured front yard.
  • Curb appeal.
  • Visually pleasing in color, form, and texture.
  • Attention to detail.

Water-Wise

  • General appearance: Well-maintained and manicured front yard.
  • The landscape is able to thrive with less water.
  • Functional landscape.
  • Minimal or functional turf.
  • Climate-appropriate plant palette (such as plants from the ARC's Drought Tolerant Plant Palette).
