Landscape Improvement Project - University Avenue

As part of LARMAC’s ongoing Urban Forest Management Program, a recent evaluation was conducted on the declining trees along University Avenue. Maintaining a thriving and sustainable urban forest requires careful, individualized assessment of each tree—including its health, structure, and growth pattern—while also considering how it contributes to the overall landscape.

Starting April 6, residents will notice tree pruning, select tree removals, and replacement plantings along University Avenue. This work will also include tree stump grinding, sod replacement, and the installation of fresh mulch.

As part of this project, new tree species were thoughtfully chosen to diversify the overall tree population, introduce seasonal color, and help reduce leaf litter.

Temporary Parking Restrictions

To allow O’Connell crews to work safely and efficiently, signage will be placed on or near trees scheduled for maintenance. These signs will request that vehicles not be parked adjacent to the designated work areas during operating hours.

We kindly ask all residents to follow the posted notices and use alternate parking while crews are onsite. Your cooperation helps ensure that the work can be completed smoothly and safely.
