School and Sports Field Protection Measures

LARMAC maintains 12 school and sports fields in Ladera Ranch, representing approximately 1,192,000 square feet (27 acres) of turf.

Routine weed control at Ladera Ranch school sites and adjacent LARMAC park property is performed by hand labor or mechanical means whenever practical.
When pesticide applications are necessary as part of annual turf renovation, overseeding, or sod replacement programs, LARMAC provides advance notification to Capistrano Unified School District in accordance with the Healthy Schools Act.
Notices are posted on LaderaLife.com and at the Avendale Village Clubhouse.
On-site signage is placed at treatment locations.
Treated areas are temporarily closed and fenced for a minimum of 48 hours following application.
