The LARCS Event Planning Committee and the Board of Directors are thrilled to announce a variety of fun winter activities and events designed to bring our community together this holiday season.

These festive events and recreation programs will not only celebrate the season's spirit but also create opportunities for neighbors, friends, and families to connect, have fun, and build lasting memories. Create & Connect Workshops | December 4, January 29, and February 25
Unwind and explore your artistic side at these Create and Connect Workshops. They are the perfect activity for a seasoned artist or a beginner. Our friendly and experienced facilitators will nurture your creativity as you sip wine, delight in savory appetizers, and have fun with friends.

Letters to Santa | Dec 2-13 | 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Write a letter to Santa telling him what you wish for this holiday season. Your letter may be dropped off in his special mailbox at the Avendale Village Clubhouse. From the North Pole, Santa will reply to each letter he receives. Be sure to include your return address.

Holiday Decorating Contests | December 5-17
Get into the holiday spirit by entering your home in the annual Holiday Decorating Contest! Submit your entry by December 4 in one of the following categories:

  • New Kid on the Block
  • Most Creative Use of Lights
  • Best Use of Theme
  • Classic/Traditional
  • Best Yard Display

Winners will receive a gift card and a festive yard sign to display throughout the season. Please note: if your holiday decorations, including lights, extend over the public right of way, you must obtain an Encroachment Permit from the County of Orange. Visit ocplanning.net/permits.

Santa Visits | Thursday, December 5 | 4:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to Ladera Ranch, and it’s the perfect time to visit with Santa, who will listen to your holiday wish list and take a photo with your family. Bring your camera to capture this special moment. Space is limited. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m., Monday, November 11. Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) has reserved a dedicated time to accommodate the unique needs of families with children with autism, special needs, or disabilities from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. This time ensures a calm and supportive atmosphere for children to enjoy a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Pre-registration is required.

Winter Fest | Saturday, December 7 | 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Join the festive fun at our winter celebration! Enjoy an afternoon of holiday performances and activities for all ages—from inflatables to a holiday craft fair, games, crafts, and capturing magical photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Stay until 5:00 p.m., when Santa will light up the park with our decorative holiday light display. This unforgettable event will spark the holiday spirit and create lasting family memories. The Santa Photo Line will close at 4:15 p.m. to allow Santa and Mrs. Claus time to prepare for the Tree Lighting.

  • 4:45 p.m. – St John’s Episcopal School

Collection Drive for Marines | December 2 - 12
Ladera Ranch is collecting gift cards for the families of the 1ST Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, a Marine unit based at Camp Pendleton, to spread cheer to children from newborn to 18 years old. Please consider donating a gift card between $10 and $25.

Menorah Lighting | Sunday, December 15 | 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate Hanukkah as a community at the Ladera Ranch Festival of Lights. This year, LARCS is partnering with local organizations to create an evening of community with music, activities, dreidels, crafts, candle lighting, and traditional Hanukkah snacks.
