Welcome Reception Helps New Homeowners Feel Connected

Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) held the June New Homeowner Welcome Reception to greet new homeowners and welcome them to the community. The reception is part of a program to deliver an exceptional welcome experience, educate new homeowners on the answers to frequently asked questions, and to encourage active participation in the community.

Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) held its second New Homeowner Welcome Reception of the year to greet new homeowners and welcome them to the community. The reception is part of an onboarding program to deliver an exceptional welcome experience, educate new homeowners on the answers to frequently asked questions, and to encourage active participation in the community.

The June 19th event was held poolside at the Oak Knoll Village Clubhouse and drew over seventy new residents who comprised the 23 families that attended. Families had recently moved to Ladera Ranch from Long Beach, Los Angeles, Redondo Beach, Santa Ana, Irvine, Newport Beach, Sherman Oaks, and as far away as Helendale (desert area), Arizona and Connecticut.

David Robertson, Communication Manager for Ladera Ranch noted that LARCS (Ladera Ranch Community Services) received comments from many of the families who said that they had never felt so welcomed by any other community. The welcome events are designed to connect residents during one of the most positive and emotional times in their family’s life – a move to a new home and a new community.

"Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) is the lifestyle arm of the community. LARCS’ mission is to build a strong social fabric and foster a unique sense of community by encouraging neighbor interaction through technology, programs, activities, and volunteerism” said Robertson.

One family who had moved into their home a week earlier had already entered the upcoming Classic Car Show and were making plans to run in the 4th of July Celebration 10K run. They spoke with George Blair, the Community Lifestyle Director about joining a community Club for U.S. Veterans, and starting a Wine Club under LARCS. They learned that social clubs may use the community clubhouses for their meetings, free of charge.

Another couple had already joined the Technology Advisory Committee, a group that advises the LARCS board of director on technology matters.

The revamped welcome receptions are being well-received by residents. It’s encouraging to see homeowners take an interest in active participation in their community right from the start. For our new homeowners, it starts by connecting them with others who are new to the community and putting a face to the names of community leaders and the LARCS and LARMAC staff; it extends to volunteering and active participation in the community – in the schools, on committees, coaching, neighborhood safety groups, and in many other ways. Ladera Ranch residents are able to connect online through Ladera’s community intranet site, LaderaLife.com.

Officials from LARCS, LARMAC (Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation), Cox Communications, Ladera’s Media Community Partner, the Ladera Rancho Chamber of Commerce, Ladera Ranch Civic Council and Neighborhood Representatives were on hand to greet and get to know the families as well as answer their questions.

Casa Ranchero provided the food for the event, Cox Communications provided the main raffle prize gift basket that included an Amazon Echo Show, Barrels and Birdies provided a gift basket which had some great apparel, and Lea Prokopowicz Photography took the photos of the families that were placed in stainless steel frame as a keepsake.

The next New Homeowner Welcome Reception is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Residents may find updated event information on LaderaLife.com.
