Teens in Ladera

What is TLC?

The Ladera Ranch Committee for Teens

The Teen Leadership Council (TLC) is made up of a diverse group of 8th-12th grade students who have demonstrated early leadership skills and traits. TLC provides members the opportunity to develop their leadership, planning and implementation skills through their hands-on involvement in community outreach projects, events and community activities.

TLC has a total of 25 members and takes on new members annually. The number of open spots vary year-by-year. Applications to join TLC are open to all 8th - 10th graders who live in Ladera Ranch. The season to apply will be near the end of the school year and into the summer.

In order to qualify for the council, students must already have 5 hours of volunteering with LARCS, TLC, or another local organization prior to applying. This is in addition to one letter of recommendation and completing the questionnaire on the application. This prerequisite prepares future council members for their annual 10 hours of volunteer work and meeting attendance quota. Once the season for applying closes, each application will then be graded and given a score. The top 10 scorers will then be invited to the next stage of the application process.
