LARMAC partnered with Santa Margarita Water District (SMWD), O’Connell Landscape Maintenance, and Mosaic Consulting to complete the project. The Covenant Hills putting course sits atop SMWD water storage towers, which was a clever way the developer used space and allowed SMWD to blend its infrastructure with the community's aesthetics.
Chase Fitzpatrick and Shon Engle, LARMAC Board members who serve on the landscape committee, attended last week’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. They are pleased with the project's outcome, appreciate SMWD's support, and look forward to residents enjoying the park with their families.
The renovation included:
- Nine-Hole Putting Course: The park's highlight is a brand-new nine-hole putting course, fun for residents of all ages and skill levels. Whether honing your putting skills or enjoying a casual game with friends, this course offers a fun and relaxing experience.
- Five-Hole Practice Green: The main putting course has a five-hole practice green, giving golfers and beginners a space to sharpen their short-game skills.
- Lawn Games: Residents can enjoy new lawn games like giant chess,* corn hole, and gaga ball—adding even more options for family-friendly fun at the park.
Residents who would like to play a round of miniature golf must bring putters, golf balls, and their active LARMAC Access Card to scan at the Covenant Hills gate.
Location: Mission Hills Park is located at 71 Bell Pasture Road.
Directions: If you're visiting from outside Covenant Hills, parking is available on Bell Pasture; please follow all fire lane and street sign regulations. Use your access card to enter through the park gates. We invite you to explore the new putting course and enjoy the fun lawn games. See you on the links.
Note: The park is now open for residents to enjoy. We’d like to remind everyone that dogs are not permitted at this park. Dogs are welcome at other parks as long as they are leashed and under control at all times. We appreciate your cooperation.
*The Large Chess Board installation was part of resident Andrew Froggatt's Eagle Scout project. Andrew worked with LARMAC to present his proposal to fundraise and install the game to benefit the community. Story to follow.
