Below are project updates provided by LARMAC staff.
LARMAC Maintenance and Projects Updates
Avendale Clubhouse Tennis and Pickleball Court Resurfacing Project: ProSurface completed the resurfacing of the Avendale Courts. The project was completed three days earlier than scheduled, allowing the courts to open up for play over the weekend. There are temporary pickleball nets until the new and much more sturdy nets will be delivered in the next 2-3 weeks.
Avendale Polywood Furniture: The Avendale Village Clubhouse received new patio furniture as a part of a reserve project to replace the existing wrought iron tables and chairs. This is another example of LARMAC continued effort to invest in sustainable furniture to reduce costs. Polywood furniture is made from 100% recycled plastic. This project contributed to the recycling of over 1,200 milk jugs.
Founders Park Sports Field Renovation Project: The Founders Park Sports Field Renovation project is underway, with fencing that went up on Friday, June 2. Replacing the fenced-off areas with new grass will soon begin, which will take several weeks to take root. Most of the grass area will remain closed through the summer season, with the scheduled reopening after Labor Day weekend for the beginning of the AYSO fall schedule.
Horno Basin Maintenance: Boulder Earthwork, Inc. completed a sediment clean-out project from the forebay and aft bay and necessary repairs to the standpipe at the Horno Basin.
Fuel Modification: OCLM has been working hard on fuel modification and defensible space clearance in accordance with Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) regulations. The landscape team will continue to work with OCFA to identify priority projects and timelines for completion.
