Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) is happy to announce that the Perkins family is the winner of the 2022 July 4th ‘Save My Spot’ Contest.
Ladera residents were automatically entered into the contest by logging in to their LaderaLife account and/or opening a Ladera Happenings newsletter email within the contest window.
The Perkins were randomly selected as the winner of the contest and will select a spot at Founders Park on July 3, the day before hundreds of residents line the perimeter of the park at 6:00 a.m. sharp, in order to claim their patch of grass to view the firework extravaganza later that evening.
As part of the prize package, the Perkins family will receive:
- 15’ x 15’ spot of their choosing at Founders Park
- Patriotic gift basket by Cox Communications
- Pizza from zpizza of Ladera Ranch
Cristy is an original Ladera homeowner and has lived in her Sutter Mill neighborhood since 2004. Her children have grown up in the community, enjoying the parks and pools and have attended elementary, middle and high school here. As a fitness enthusiast, Cristy has run the streets in Ladera, hiked our trails and has worked out at Ladera gyms for 18 years.
Cristy’s passion is in families and their newborns. For the past 25 years, she has worked locally as a labor and delivery nurse and a lactation expert. Cristy also owns her own consultancy business, Ladera Latch Nurse, providing mothers in-home guidance on lactation and breastfeeding their newborns.
Cristy says, “I’ve cared for newborns who live in Ladera for many years. At the hospital, if I learn that the parents are from Ladera, I immediately adopt them as family and let them know that I’ll likely see them at Albertsons or at a community event. I love Ladera and embrace how special our little hometown is!”
“Receiving this July 4 Celebration contest prize means a lot to my family. We always attend the July 4th Celebration and are used to lining up at 5:30 a.m. to get in line to run onto the field to claim our spot. I’m proud to be an American and this year especially, as we are able to celebrate our country’s independence together again as a community” Cristy said.
“I will gaze up at those fireworks with tears in my eyes, more grateful than ever after what we’ve all been through these past two years. With gratitude for our freedoms and the blessed life we enjoy here” she continued.
“Thank you Ladera Ranch neighbors and LARCS! We made it through together!” - Cristy Perkins
