Welcome to springtime in Ladera Ranch. We hope the new year is off to a terrific start and youʼre enjoying the beauty of the vibrant colors and sounds as nature blooms. Itʼs a time when we are in full swing, putting plans into action – from events, maintenance projects, and the business of running Ladera.
Your LARMAC and LARCS Boards and Committees are fully staffed with resident volunteers committed to serving our community. We welcome our newest members, Erick Kollerbohm, Shon Engle, and Ryan Vallone to the LARMAC Board. Volunteering their expertise, skills, and talents for the benefit of the community, our collective sleeves are rolled up, and we’re ready to work.
We need you to make 2024 the best it can be. This can be achieved through everyone's active participation. Keeping Ladera Ranch a safe, well-maintained, and vibrant community takes a village. Here are some updates weʼre excited to share with you.
Volunteer Recognition
LARCS celebrates those individuals who make a positive impact through volunteerism. Their generosity of time, passion, and talents benefit us all and shape our community. Help recognize a well-deserving neighbor by nominating them for the volunteer recognition awards. See page 4 for details.
Controlling Costs
LARMAC uses every opportunity to ideate and innovate when it comes to controlling rising costs, from bringing talent in-house to installing solar panels, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating the best value.
Recently, LARMAC renegotiated the bulk internet service contract with Cox. Unique to Ladera, residents receive high-speed internet service through the bulk agreement that LARMAC has with Cox. Residents pay approximately one-third of the cost of internet service than if they purchased it directly from Cox.
Spring Events
The season brings community events like Spring Celebration and new favorites, Paws in the Park, and the Create and Connect Workshops. The Community Garage Sale and Go Green Ladera return this year with some updates. We’ve included a special insert as a guide for this fun, one-day event. See page 10.
Playground Renovation
LARMAC has completed the renovation of all 26 playgrounds throughout the community. Many playgrounds received new play equipment, rubber play surfaces, and shade structures. The playgrounds are colorful and encourage creative and imaginative play. Funding for these budgeted projects came from Reserves – funds set aside each month to replace or maintain aging amenities in the community. See page 9. Visit the Your HOA at Work page for updates on projects like these.
Enjoy this issue of Roots and Wings Magazine, springtime in Ladera, and all our community offers. The issue is scheduled to arrive in homes late next week.
We hope to see you around town at our events, on the trails, or maybe playing on the courts.
