- Greetings from your Board Presidents
Chase Fitzpatrick (LARMAC President) and Greg Sink (LARCS President)introduce the winter issue of Roots and Wings magazine and share their gratitude for the community and volunteers.
What a year 2022 has been so far! It has been a year of change and progress as much as it has been a year of our community coming together through events, volunteerism, and a strengthened sense of togetherness.
Your HOA at Work
As the master maintenance association, Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation (LARMAC) is pleased to report the completion of some significant renovation and maintenance projects (see below). The Board has worked closely with staff and vendors to effectively navigate the challenges of increased costs and disruption to the supply chain for even the most basic items.
LARMAC has worked diligently with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) to address its ever-changing directives to create a defensible space in specific areas and to reduce the number of acacia shrubs that are prevalent throughout the community. Included in this issue of Roots and Wings is an article about our ongoing efforts to manage the health of our trees and our joint effort with arborists and specialists to battle the Shothole Borer Beetle, an aggressive pest species (see the article, "Invasive Shothole Borer Beetle Threatens Tree Health").
LARCS Events
As the lifestyle division, Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) was excited to see everyone at our signature events including the summer concert series, July 4th Celebration, and we are looking forward to Miracle on Mercantile Way.
Behind the Scene: Planning Ahead for Events
We have heard from many of you regarding the wonderful return of the sense of community through our events, recreation classes, and activities. We appreciate your feedback and want to learn more about what you would like to see in the year ahead. We invite you to share your ideas through the resident survey. Your feedback will help us learn how you enjoy our events and access amenities. Those who complete the survey will be entered to win the “Save My Spot” prize for the 2023 July 4th Celebration.
Grateful for Our Volunteers
Thank you to all of you who volunteered throughout the year, in the classrooms, at local foodbanks, as coaches and mentors; and of course, those who serve on the LARCS and LARMAC Committees and Boards. In one way or another, your dedication and contributions enrich the lives of everyone living in Ladera.
Happy Holidays
We wish you and yours a happy holiday season. We hope to see you at the winter events and around town as you enjoy the festive holiday lighting and decorations throughout the community.
